(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 31 - The government cracked down on illegal rave parties at a cabinet meeting Monday.
Among the moves contained in a ddecree are jail terms of three to six years, fines ranging from 1,000 to 10,000 euros, and the confiscation of materiel used to occupy the rave venue as well as sound systems, according to a copy of the decree.
The decree came after a rave near Modena was broken up Monday. After starting on Saturday night, the thousand or so ravers including some from France and Belgium had been hoping to rave until Tuesday night. They left the area after clearing up their rubbish.
