(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 31 - The oldest every Italian organ
donation was made in Fabriano in Marche on Sunnday when a liver
was taken from a woman who died of a brain haemorrhage Saturday
aged 97 years, six months and 29 days.
The operation, which took place at the Engles Profilo Hospital,
beat several 97-year-olds who were not as old as the Fabriano
woman, in 2019 in Florence, in 2018 in Grosseto, in 2008 in
Ravenna and in 2003 at Savona.
The record-breaking liver was transplanted into another patient
in a life-saving operation at the Di Torrette Hospital in
Ancona, the Marche capital. (ANSA).
