(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 8 - A 33-year-old Moroccan man had been
put on trial in Modena for allegedly persecuting his 25-year-old
Moroccan niece because she had taken on Western ways, married an
Italian and had two children with him, judicial sources said
Tuesday.
The defendant has been charged with subjecting his niece to
verbal and physical violence and persecutory acts for months
between 2020 and 2021.
He has also been charged with stalking her.
The nice and her husband, who was also allegedly the victim of
the man's persecution, are standing as plaintiffs in the trial
in the Emilian city.
The woman told the court Tuesday: "He beat me, threatened me
with death and stopped me from going out and dressing as I
wanted.
"I feared for my safety". (ANSA).
