(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 10 - Premier Giorgia Meloni said after
meeting NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at the premier's
office in Rome Thursday that she confirmed Italy's commitment to
NATO.
"I confirm Italy's commitment to NATO and the common challenges
that the Alliance is facing in this delicate moment", she said.
Before and after becoming premier after winning the September 25
general election, Meloni affirmed Rome's allegiance to NATO and
its unconditional support for helping UKraine fend off Russian
aggression.
The premier added after Thursday's meeting with Stoltenberg: "I
consider it a priority to work to strengthen the Alliance as a
whole with a strong pillar that must also be European with the
aim of making it even stronger and capable of responding to
threats from any direction". (ANSA).
