(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 14 - Firefighters in Sicily found the body
of Air Force Captain Fabio Antonio Altruda overnight after the
Eurofighter he was flying crashed on Tuesday.
The jet crashed for reasons as yet unknown when Altruda was
returning to the Trapani Birgi base after a training mission.
His body was found in the area of Locogrande, near Marsala.
Premier Giorgia Meloni said in a statement that the news of
Altruda's death "fills us with sadness.
"In the name of the government I express my deepest condolences
and closeness to the family and to the Air Force," she said.
