(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 22 - Italy is taking in migrants who are
wealthy enough to pay human traffickers, Premier Giorgia Meloni
said on a prime-time TV political talk show Thursday.
In the management of migrants, she said at the taping of Porta a
Porta to be aired this evening, "we have often penalised the
weakest" and "those we take in are actually those who have the
money to give to the smugglers, the others don't.
"I do not believe that this is an intelligent way of managing
the problem of refugees and migrants". (ANSA).
