(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 22 - The Tour de France will start in
Italy for the first time in 2024, organizers have announced.
Race director Christian Prudhomme said this would fix an
"incongruity" as Italy is the only one of France neighbours
never to have hosted the 'Grand Depart' in its 120-year history.
The first three stages in 2024 will be on Italian territory,
running from Florence to Rimini, Cesenatico to Bologna, and
Piacenza to Turin. (ANSA).
