(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 20 - Italy is seeking a Russian oligarch
after his yacht went missing after it was hit by a seizure order
as part of sanctions amid the Ukraine war.
Prosecutors are sifting through records at the chic Tuscan
resort town of Forte dei Marmi where fertilizer magnate Dmitry
Arkadievich Mazepin, father of the ex-F1 driver Nikita, recently
applied to hire a seaside villa.
They are also trying to locate his super-yacht, which has gone
missing both from the port of Savona on the Ligurian Riviera
where it was supposed to remain berthed, and from Sardinia where
it is registered.
Mazepin has an estimated fortune of over 800 million dollars.
The yacht is just a small piece of his business empire.
It is believed to have been transferred outside Italy, perhaps
to Tunisia.
Mazepin may have returned to Russia, Italian police say. (ANSA).
