(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - Napoli extended their lead at the top
of Serie A to 13 points on Sunday by beating AS Roma 2-1 at
home, while champions AC Milan's dreadful form continued with
they were thumped 5-2 by Sassuolo at San Siro.
Victor Osimhen and substitute Giovanni Simeone were on target to
put Napoli on 53 points from 20 games.
Inter climbed to second with 40 points thanks to a 2-1 win at
bottom-side Cremonese.
Milan, who were trashed 4-0 by Lazio last week after being
thumped 3-0 by Inter in the Italian Super Cup, are now 15 points
off the pace in fifth place.
They are level on 38 points with Lazio, who were held 1-1 by
Fiorentina in Rome, and Atalanta, who won 2-0 against
second-bottom Sampdoria.
Juventus's woes continued after they suffered a 15-points
deduction for balance-sheet irregularities as they lost 2-0 in
Turin to Silvio Berlusconi's Monza.
As a result Juve have been overtaken by promoted Monza and lie
in 13th place with 23 points. (ANSA).
