(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 31 - Italy's privacy watchdog on Friday
blocked AI chatbot ChatGPT charging it with illegally harvesting
the personal data of Italian users.
It said the Italian activities of the chatbot developed by US
company OpenAI would be suspended until its met Italian privacy
standards and regulations.
The watchdog also opened a probe.
In its measure halting ChatGPT, the privacy authority cited a
failure to inform users and all those whose data were gathered
by OpenAI, and also, above all, the absence of a juridical basis
justifying the data harvesting and the massive storage of
personal data. (ANSA).
