(ANSA) - ROME, APR 18 - The 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome will boost
the Italian capital's bid to host Expo 2030, Deputy Premier and
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani reiterated Tuesday.
Speaking at the G7 foreign ministers meeting in Japan, Tajani
said the Ryder Cup "is the third most followed sports event in
the world after the Olympics and the soccer World Cup.
"Demonstrating you are able to organise great events certainly
helps boost pour bid (for Expo)".
Tajani urged "all golf fans in Japan to look with great
attention at what is happening in Italy.
"If they want to come and visit our country, we'll be ready to
welcome them with open arms". (ANSA).
