(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 14 - One person died and 11 were injured after a fire broke out in a nursing home for the elderly and people suffering from mental illness in the northern city of Parma early Monday morning.
The victim is a 62-year-old female guest at the Casa di Arianna, run by the Avitas cooperative.

"I wish to send a message of condolence to the family of the victim and my thoughts to those who are currently in hospital due to smoke poisoning," said Parma Mayor Michele Guerra.
"The building in question is privately owned and run. We are working to ensure that support continue to be provided to those who need it, while we wait for the investigators to establish the nature of the fire and its causes," he added. (ANSA).
