(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 16 - An 11-year-old girl of Senagalese
origin who drowned in Lake Como on a Ferragosto outing on
Tuesday was named Wednesday as Fatou Thiao.
She disappeared beneath the waters after taking a dip with her
two sisters and a girl friend.
The body of Thiaou, who lived with her family in a small town
near Lecco, was recovered earlier Wednesday.
Divers found it not far from the point in which she had got into
difficulty.
Local authorities on Wednesday appealed for bathers to show
"prudence" in taking to the cold waters amid such muggy summer
heat. (ANSA).
