(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 18 - A gang of thieves staged a
two-million-euro heist in the home of a Roman aristocrat on
Wednesday, Rome daily Il Messaggero reported Friday.
The robbers prised Princess Vittoria Odescalchi's safe out of a
wall in her luxury flat in the central Via Cavour and made away
with its contents, the newspaper said.
The gang got away with precious jewels, including unique pieces,
it said.
The flat was not fitted with a burglar alarm and the thieves
presumably got in through a balcony.
They ransacked the apartment before finding the safe, Il
Messaggero said. (ANSA).
