(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 25 - Emilia Romagna must not be left alone
to recover from the flood and landslide emergency in May that
left 15 people dead and caused tens of billions of euros of
damage to the local economy and infrastructure, President Sergio
Mattarella said on Friday.
"The citizens of Romagna - and their mayors - must not be left
alone," Mattarella told participants at the annual Meeting of
Catholic evangelical organisation Comunione e Liberazione (CL)
in the Emilia Romagna seaside resort of Rimini.
"The recovery of local communities - and with them all their
activities - is a priority, not only for those who live here,
but for the whole of Italy," he added. (ANSA).
