Berlin says will respond to Meloni letter to Scholz

(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 25 - A German government spokesman wrote to ANSA Monday saying that Berlin will respond to Premier Giorgia Meloni's letter to Chancellor Olad Scholz voicing amazement that Germany is funding migrant NGOs at sea and land in Italy.
    'We can confirm receipt of the letter from the Italian Prime Minister. The letter will be answered," the spokesman told ANSA after a request for comment from the Berlin executive.
    The spokesman did not add anything else about the letter, while on the issue of civilian rescue at sea he referred to statements made by the German foreign ministry at a press conference in Berlin today. (ANSA).
