(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 4 - Prada is to design NASA's moon suits
for the Artemis III lunar landing mission scheduled to be
launched in 2025, Axiom Space space sector leader and designer
of the first orbital commercial station announced Wednesday.
The mission will be the first crewed landing on the moon since
Apollo 17 in December 1972 and will be the first to take a woman
to Earth's satellite.
The iconic Italian fashion house will work with Axiom Space to
develop innovative solutions in terms of materials and design
able to both provide protection and to meet the challenges of a
unique environment, said Axiom.
"Prada's know-how in raw materials, production and design
techniques will enable us to apply advanced technologies to
guarantee the comfort of the astronauts on the lunar surface,
taking into consideration also those human factors that are so
necessary and so far absent in traditional space suits," said
Axiom Space CEO Michael Suffredini. (ANSA).
