(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 17 - A manhole cover scraping Carlos
Sainz's Ferrari and other cars stopped Thursday's first free
practice for Sunday's La Vegas Grand Prix after just nine
minutes.
In addition to the damage - over a million dollars - came
mockery for the Spanish driver, as the forced replacement of all
components cost him a penalty of ten places on the grid.
The incident sparked fury from Maranello team principal
Frederick Vasseur, who said: "This situation is simply
unacceptable."
The F1 Circus is back in Sin City after 40 years. (ANSA).
