Man violates restraining order and attacks ex wife in Rome

(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 21 - A man violated a restraining order and attacked his ex wife outside her home in Rome on Monday evening.
    The incident occurred in the area of Piazzale Clodio northwest of the city centre.
    The man, aged 34 and from the capital, was apprehended immediately by Carabinieri police.
    The violent crime prosecutor has requested for the precautionary measures ordered against the man to be tightened.
    The incident comes against the backdrop of renewed public attention to and concern about gender-based violence following the high-profile femicide of 22-year-old engineering student Giulia Cecchettin. (ANSA).
