(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 1 - Etna was putting on a show on Friday,
sending up a lava fountain from the southeast crater and a high
plume of smoke.
The volcanic activity, which the National Institute of
Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) described as "normal", could
be seen from Taormina and Catania.
The eruption was not said to be affecting operations at nearby
Catania airport. (ANSA).
