Husband disfigures woman's face with acid

(see related story on Giulia Cecchettin) (ANSA) - ROME, DEC 5 - A woman suffered disfiguring burns on her face on Tuesday after her husband threw acid at her in the Sicilian town of Palma di Montechiaro, near Agrigento.
    The woman was taken to Agrigento's San Giovanni di Dio hospital.
    The man burned his hands while carrying out the attack and was taken to a different hospital.
    It is the latest in a series of episodes of gender-based violence that have hit Italy. (ANSA).
