Pope says he's better, still has trouble speaking

Francis lets aide speak for him at general audience

Redazione Ansa

(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 6 - Pope Francis said at his weekly general audience on Wednesday that he is "much better" after suffering from a lung inflammation, while adding that "I struggle if I talk too much".
Indeed, the pope let one of his aides, Mons. Filippo Ciampanelli, read out his reflections for him at the Vatican's Paul VI Audience Hall.
The pope walked into the audience with the help of a stick.
Among other things, the illness forced Francis to cancel plans to attend the COP28 UN Climate Conference in Dubai. (ANSA).
