(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 23 - Surprise-package Bologna beat
Atalanta 1-0 at home on Saturday thanks to a goal in the closing
stages by Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson to stay in fourth
place in Serie A and remain in contention for a slot in next
season's Champions League.
Bologna have 31 points from 17 games, two behind third-placed AC
Milan, who drew 2-2 at Salernitana on Friday, and one more than
fifth-placed Fiorentina, who beat Monza 1-0 away.
The top four qualify for the Champions League.
Atalanta are seventh with 26 points, pending the results of rest
of the weekend's fixtures.
In Saturday afternoon's other match, Torino, 10th, and Udinese,
16th, battled out a 1-1 draw.
Earlier on Saturday second-placed Juventus beat Frosinone 2-1
away to close the gap on leaders Inter for one point.
Inter can go back to being four points ahead by beating Lecce at
San Siro later on Saturday. (ANSA).
