I trust ECB rates will come down this year - Meloni

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 4 - Premier Giorgia Meloni said Thursday she hoped interest rates will come down in 2024, freeing up resources currently used to pay down the public debt.
    "I trust that during this year we can be reasonable and imagine a decrease in interest rates, which would free up several resources used to pay down the public debt," Meloni told reporters during her end-of-year press conference. (ANSA).
