(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 18 - Italian number two Lorenzo Sonego
fought hard but was knocked out of the Australian Open in
Melbourne by world number two Carlos Alcaraz of Spain in four
sets in the second round Thursday.
The Wimbledon champ and second seed behind world number one and
10 time Aussie winner Novak Djokovic, the Serb legend who has
won a record 24 slams, prevailed in three and a half hours by
6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6.
The 28-year-old from Turin, world number 46, said "I gave it all
