(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - Veteran Italian director Marco
Bellocchio's Rapito (Abducted) is up for a Cèsar Prize, the
French Oscars, in the best foreign film category, organisers
said Wednesday.
The film, based on the true story of the 19th century abduction
of a Jewish boy by the Catholic Church, is up against Aki
Kaurismaki's Fallen Leaves, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, Wim
Wenders' Perfect Days and Monia Chokri's Simple Comme Sylvain.
Also up for an award on February 23 is animated film Chicken for
Linda! by Italy's Chiara Malta and French director Sébastien
Laudenbach, while French animation director Alain Ughetto's
Interdit aux chiens et aux italiens (No Dogs Or Italians), about
past anti-Italian prejudice, is also going for a gong. (ANSA).
