(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 24 - Veteran Italian director Marco Bellocchio's Rapito (Abducted) is up for a Cèsar Prize, the French Oscars, in the best foreign film category, organisers said Wednesday.
The film, based on the true story of the 19th century abduction of a Jewish boy by the Catholic Church, is up against Aki Kaurismaki's Fallen Leaves, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, Wim Wenders' Perfect Days and Monia Chokri's Simple Comme Sylvain.
Also up for an award on February 23 is animated film Chicken for Linda! by Italy's Chiara Malta and French director Sébastien Laudenbach, while French animation director Alain Ughetto's Interdit aux chiens et aux italiens (No Dogs Or Italians), about past anti-Italian prejudice, is also going for a gong.
