Tajani knows efforts to spare civilians says Israel envoy

(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 13 - Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani knows the efforts Israel is making to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza, Israeli Ambassador to Rome Alon Bar said after Tajani said Tel Aviv's response to the October 7 Hamas attacks had been disproportionate.
    "Minister Tajani has been to Israel: he met with Netanyahu, our foreign minister and the president of parliament, who gave him details of Israel's efforts to avoid civilian casualties," said Bar on the sidelines of the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Israel.
    "We have to make sure that Hamas no longer has the ability to attack us as it did on 7 October. We are trying to do this by minimising the number of civilian casualties". (ANSA).
