(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 16 - Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said
on the death in a Russian prison of Putin regime opposition
leader Alexei Navalny that Russia had lost a voice of freedom.
"After years of imprisonment in a less than liberal prison
regime, Russia loses a free voice: we are close to the family
and have always fought, even when I was in the European
Parliament, for freedom in both Russia and Belarus," said
Tajani, who is also deputy premier, in Milan.
"Now there will be one less voice of freedom".
Navalny, 47, who had been held since January 2021, died Friday
of a suspected heart attack. (ANSA).
