(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 24 - Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani was elected secretary of the centre-right post
Berlusconi Forza Italia (FI) party at an FI congress in Rome
Saturday.
Tajani, 70, was previously long-time No 2 to three-time ex
premier and media magnate Silvio Berlusconi, who died last June
aged 86.
Tajani, who has been serving as party leader since Berlusconi's
death, is also a previous president of the European Parliament.
He was elected FI leader unanimously Saturday. (ANSA).
