(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 27 - Centre-right candidate Poalo Truzzu
on Tuesday conceded defeat in the Sardinia governor's race to
centre-left candidate Alessandra Todde who appears to have an
unassailable lead with just a handful of polling stations still
to report in.
"This morning I called Alessandra Todde and congratulated her,"
said Cagliari mayor Truzzu who is 0.
"I told her I would see her again in the regional council.
"We really lost by a hair, about two thousand votes out of 750
thousand Sardinians who went to vote.
"The responsibility for the defeat is mine alone".
"In Cagliari, there was more of a vote against me than for
Todde," added the defeated mayor and centre-right candidate.
