(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 1 - President Sergio Mattarella on Friday
highlighted Italy's "extraordinarily solid" relations with
Germany during a visit by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to the
Quirinale palace in Rome.
"It is a pleasure to be able to converse with you and underline
how solid - to say solid is insufficient - our relations are:
they are really extraordinarily solid," said Mattarella.
The president added that bilateral relations between the country
have been further "strengthened by the recent action plan signed
by you and Premier Meloni in Berlin, which will certainly
increase our cooperation even further in every respect".
"Welcome," concluded Mattarella.
In November Meloni and Scholz signed an Action Plan between
Italy and Germany as part of the intergovernmental summit in
Berlin.
The signing took place at the Chancellery after the bilateral
meeting between the two heads of government.
The plan aims to boost cooperation both on a bilateral and on a
European level. (ANSA).
