(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 4 - Over 70 people were evacuated from
their homes in Venaus in Piemonte's Val de Susa on Monday as a
precautionary measure due to the danger of avalanches.
Around 30 people were receiving assistance from the municipal
authorities and civil protections volunteers at a local
multipurpose centre.
In San Raffaele Cimena, part of the Turin metropolitan city
area, 20 people living in two separate hamlets were cut off due
to a landslide.
Usseglio was also isolated due to a landslide on provincial road
23 leading to Lemie.
On Monday the avalanche risk was at level 4 - High on the danger
scale throughout the Piemonte Alps. (ANSA).
