(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 7 - Lovers' caresses hoping for their love
to be lucky have bored a hole into Juliet's statue in her home
Verona, visited by hundreds of loving couples each year.
The hole has appeared on the right breast of the figure
representing the Shakespearian star-crossed lover in the
northern city, the L'Arena newspaper reported Thursday.
This is the second time the accumulation of lovers' touches have
damaged Juliet.
In 2014 the original 1972 statue was replaced because it had
been worn down by all the stroking. (ANSA).
