(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 19 - League sources on Tuesday welcomed
Premier Giorgia Meloni's ruling out sending NATO troops to
Ukraine so as to avoid an escalation in the conflict with Russia
saying this meant she was in full harmony with League leader and
Deputy Premier Matteo Salvini despite the latter saying voters
are always right on Russian elections which the premier branded
a sham.
"Premier Giorgia Meloni's words on Ukraine, with particular
reference to the risk of escalation, confirm the responsible and
common sense line of the Italian government as called for by the
League since always," said the sources.
They said she was in "full harmony" with Salvini. (ANSA).
