(ANSA) - ROME, APR 15 - A 26-year-old minor-league soccer
player who collapsed on Sunday during a match near Florence has
died, the mayor of the town he was playing for said on Facebook
on Monday.
Mattia Giani had a bad turn while in action for Castelfiorentino
against Lanciotto Campi in the Eccellenza championship match at
the Campi Bisenzio municipal stadium.
He was rushed to Florence's Careggi hospital.
Castelfiorentino Mayor Alessio Falorni said Monday that he had
passed away there.
The match was abandoned.
