Deep shock at cowardly attack on Fico says Meloni

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 15 - Premier Giorgia Meloni on Wednesday voiced deep shock at the "cowardly" assassination attempt on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico who is fighting for his life after being repeatedly shot in the abdomen in the central Slovak town of Handlova.
    "I learned with deep shock of the cowardly attack on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. All my thoughts are for him, his family and the friendly Slovak people," she said.
    "Aslo in the name of the Italian government, I wish to express firm condemnation of all forms of violence and attacks on the key principles of democracy and freedoms." (ANSA).
