(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 15 - Ilaris Salis has been released from
prison to house arrest on bail and has to wear an electronic
tracking ankle bracelet, her lawyer said after the 39-year-old
antifascist on trial for attacking neonazis and whose detention
conditions have shocked Italy was freed Wednesday.
"The appeals court accepted our appeal," the lawyer, Gyorgy
Magyar, told ANSA.
"She guaranteed that she won't try to escape and will have an
electronic bracelet. The court is only awaiting the payment of
bail, which amounts to 40,000 euros."
Magyar said he was urging the activist's family to pay it as
soon as possible.
"House arrest is a success for the defence," he said. (ANSA).
