1 worker dead, 1 missing in accident at Naples metro dig

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 22 - One worker is dead and another missing after an accident at excavations for a new Naples metro line on Wednesday, the latest in a spate of fatal workplace accidents in Italy.
    Another man is injured.
    The workers were engulfed when earth gave way du,ring work on the line between Capodichino, where the city airport is, and Poggioreale, where one of its prisons is.
    It is the latest in a long string of fatal workplace accidents in Italy that has spurred union protests.
    Five men died after inhaling toxic gas in a sewer network near Palermo earlier this month, and seven died in a hydro power plant blast near Bologna last month. (ANSA).
