(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 27 - Italian Defence Minister Guido
Crosetto said Monday that Israel is sowing hatred that will
affect its future generations after an Israeli strike on tents
hosting displaced people in Rafah, in the Gaza Strip, killed
dozens of people.
"I have the impression that Israel is sowing hatred that will
impact (its) children and grandchildren," Crosetto told the
SkyTg24 Live in Milano event.
"Hamas is one thing, the Palestinian people is another.
"They should have discerned between the two
"We are convinced that Israel had to solve the problem with
Hamas, but, from day one, we have said that it had to be dealt
with in a different way.
"With respect to Rafah, all States agreed that Israel had to
stop.
"We were not listened to and now we look at the situation with
despair.
"We are faced with an increasingly difficult situation in which
the Palestinian people are being squeezed, without taking into
account the dramatic difficulties and the rights of innocent
men, women and children who have nothing to do with Hamas.
"This is no longer justifiable". (ANSA).
