Matera hit by floods

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 28 - The southern Italian town of Matera was hit by flooding caused by torrential rain on Tuesday.
    Many cars in the Città dei Sassi had troubled getting through the high water.
    In the nearby Benevento area, hailstorms damaged crops.
    Weathermen said the bad weather will ease in the south in coming days but storms will continue to affect the north of Italy until the end of the month. (ANSA).
