(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 17 - President John Elkann celebrated
Ferrari's team work after it won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024
endurance classic for the second consecutive time on Sunday.
Nicklas Nielsen, who shared the cockpit with Miguel Molina and
Antonio Fuoco, drove the Ferrari No 50 to take the chequered
flag just 14 second ahead of Toyota's No 7 car.
Ferrari's No 51 car of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and
Antonio Giovinazzi, came third after giving the Italian team
victory at Le Mans last year on their return to the race after
50 years.
"Our first and third places at Le Mans bear witness to how
teamwork can make extraordinary achievements possible," said
Elkann.
"I would like to thank everyone for this, our drivers, engineers
and mechanics, who, during the very tough 24 hours, showed
courage and great tenacity.
"I am happy that, counting last year and this year, all our
drivers have won at Le Mans.
"Only such a united and determined team could achieve this
historic goal" (ANSA).
