Meloni-Kishida bilateral meeting at G7 stressed Expo's importance

'Great interest for Italy in Japan', Vattani says

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 17 - Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni and her Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida stressed the importance of Expo 2025 Osaka and confirmed the excellent state of relations between their two countries during a bilateral meeting at the G7 Borgo Egnazia Summit which wrapped up on June 15.
    The meeting pursued the objective of adopting a bilateral Action Plan aimed at defining cooperation priorities for the 2024-2027 period.
    "There is great interest for Italy in Japan and for our pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka and our contribution to the success of Expo 2025 Osaka is a concrete commitment", commented the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo Osaka 2025, Ambassador Mario Vattani.
    "The Universal Exposition next year is a great opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations between our nations".
    In January 2023, given the excellent relations between the two countries, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Japanese Premier Fumio Kishida decided to elevate bilateral relations between Italy and Japan to the level of Strategic Partnership.
