Tajani reiterates support for von der Leyen

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 17 - Deouty Premier, Foreign Minister and centre-right post Berlusconi Forza Italia (FI) party leader Antonio Tajani on Monday reaffirmed his support for outgoing European Commission President and European People's Party (EPP) candidate for a second term at the helm of the EU executive.
    "The elections have confirmed the trust in our political family. " Tajani wrote on X, publishing some pictures showing him in Brussels with the President of the European Commission.
    "Forza Italia will play a central role in the EPP, starting with the choice of who will lead the EU Commission. In Brussels I reiterated my support for Ursula von der Leyen, with whom I spoke about priorities for Italy and the EU." (ANSA).
