Safeguarding refugees international, moral duty-Mattarella

(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 20 - Safeguarding refugees is an international and moral duty, President Sergio Mattarella said Thursday.
    "The Italian Republic guarantees the protection of refugees with a multilateral approach inspired by the principles of state responsibility and respect for the dignity of the person," he said on World Refugee Day.
    "Our country remains committed to promoting innovative tools, such as humanitarian and labour corridors.
    "This is an international obligation and a moral duty of solidarity consistent with the principles of the Constitution".
