(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 21 - An 80-year-old man shot dead his
72-year-old wife and called the police telling them he had been
unable to cope with looking after her for so long in Arezzo
Friday, the day's second femicide in Italy.
The man, Alessandro Sacchi, killed his wife Serenella Mugnai
with a single pistol shot to the head, police said.
Earlier Friday a man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his
wife to death at the couple's home in Cagliari overnight after a
row with her in the latest in an alarming spate of femicides in
Italy. (ANSA).
