(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 27 - Poland's former ruling party Law and
Justice (PiS) is considering leaving Premier Giorgia Meloni's
European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) caucus and forming a
new group, former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told
Politico Thursday.
PiS has hitherto been a staunch ECR member and co-chair of the
group, which also numbers Spain's Vox, the Sweden Democrats and
other conservative parties.
"We are in talks with the ECR and that is the main element that
will determine our future," he said.
Sayinjg that PiS was "tempted to go in both directions", he said
there was a 50-50 chance of the party quitting the caucus.
