Fabio Fognini upset world number eight and three-time major
runner-up Casper Ruud of Norway in four sets to qualify for the
third round of Wimbledon on Wednesday.
The 37-year-old, a career high world number nine in 2019, beat
the 25-year-old by 6-4, 7-5, 6-7, 6-3.
The Sanremo-born Fognini, who has two children with wife and
2015 US open winner Flavia Pennetta, will play the winner of
29-year-old Turin born world number 57 Lorenzo Sonego and
36-year-old Spanish world number 122 Roberto Bautista Agut, who
are currently one set all. (ANSA).
