(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 8 - Premier Giorgia Meloni voiced the hope
for a sustainable Gaza ceasefire as soon as possible and the
release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in line with UN
Security Council Resolution 2735 and with mediation from the US
in a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahy on Monday, her office said.
Italy recognises Israel's right to defend itself, the statement
