Tajani 'perplexed over regularity of Venezuela's vote'

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 29 - Italian Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Monday said he has "many perplexities on the regular course of elections in Venezuela".
    "We ask for verifiable results and access to proceedings: does the result announcing (Nicolas) Maduro's victory really reflect the will of the people?", Tajani wrote in a comment on his X account.
    Venezuela's opposition has claimed victory in Sunday's presidential election, gearing up for a showdown with the government, which earlier declared President Maduro the winner.
