Italy set for first Olympic tennis medal in 100 years

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 2 - Italy's Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini beat Czech pair Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova 6-3 6-2 to reach the final of the women's doubles at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Friday.
    It means Italy is set to win its first Olympic tennis medal since Uberto de Morpurgo won bronze in Paris in 1924.
    Italy's Lorenzo Musetti faces tennis great Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the men's singles later on Friday.
    Italy's Stefano Oppo and Gabriel Soares won the silver medal in the men's lightweight double skulls rowing at the 2024 Paris Olympics earlier in the day.
    The came second to Ireland and fended off the Greek pair in a close finish. (ANSA).
